During my Internship with the St. Louis Blues, I learned a ton. I Was able to learn Not only about myself as a professional but also about the professional process within the Blue Note Productions Team as a whole. Ever since I was a kid, I have loved St. Louis Blues Hockey; this experience has been everything I could have hoped for. I learned lessons in Video Editing, Cataloging, Professional lighting sets, Gameday media operations, professional communications, team building, and so much more. Below are some of the projects I was a part of. They were discussed further.
VIDEO PROJECTS
CARDINALS BATTING PRACTICE
This was a planned shoot through Blue Note productions, where we mic'd up players during their preseason batting practice at Busch Stadium. I had brayden schenn mic'd up and was operating his cam. After the shoot, I flipped the video within two days to ensure the social team would be able to post the video in a timely fashion. Through this project, I was able to utilize new technology in mics and in editing practices.
Decades Night Second Period 80's OPEN
This project is an opening video for the second period of the Decades Night, which is 80s-themed. We went through the different decades through the night, all with specialty intros. This was my first edit of a period open through my internship, and I learned about how the music plays into the production of the opening faceoff and how to keep the music running so that way it would match the bowl audio through it fully running.
CASINO NIGHT
This project was meant to be a recap of the St. Louis Blues Casino night to benefit St. Louis Children's Hospital. I was B-Cam on this shoot, organizing B-Roll, and took the Lead Editor role on the project as well. I was able to see the process all the way through plan for what shots I would need during the shoot, and operate accordingly. The video was rolled out on socials and for in-game use as well. Having a recap for an event like this is extremely important as it helps bring to light what the Blues do for their community.
Dad's Trip
This project was meant to be a recap of the St. Louis Blues ANnual Dad's trip. BNP sent two shooters on the trip, and I was tasked with the editing of the event. The goal of the video was to capture the feel of the trip, combining all of the different camera angles captured throughout the trip. THe video was to be released on KMOV, Socials, and In-GAME.
